Quick recap of our direction as a church as weve been studying the nature and the character of God.

The Faithful God - He’s a God who always shows up. He keeps covenant, He is FAITHFUL.

The Kind God - The kindness of God is expressed by his nature also. He gives you his love. He wants to be known as KIND.

The Gracious God - His gracious ways were made known to His people and can still be known today!

The Generous God….. His generosity towards us is an ever present tidal flow IN.. not OUT - He is the God of the OVERFLOW not the UNDERSUPPLY!

Feel led this week to preach

“the HEALING God”

DO you think God can HEAL you?

Let me ask you this:

Do you think HE wants to?

I want to take a moment as we wrap this up / and talk about Gods HEALING nature

(here is my prayer: that this message will build your faith today: to understand who He is, but to also have the FAITH in What He wants to do for you.

If you need healing today is your day, if you know someone who needs healing today is your day, if you want to know MORE about healing TODAY IS your day!)

WHAT IS HEALING? Here is the BIBLICAL definition…. Healing is the “restoration of body, mind, or spirit to a state of wholeness and well-being.

Healing is something we can get confused about at times. maybe Mislef about.

Maybe haven’t experienced Gods healing nature

And I feel like if MORE people KNEW this about God I believe more people would get saved and enter into a relationship with the creator of the WORLD because HEALING is often misunderstood and played around with but I believe God Is going to provide some clarity for us today through HIS word.

Healing is the RESTORATION of BODY, MIND, SPIRIT to a STATE of being…. We call WHOLENESS (so nothing missing, complete, perfect well functionion wholness)… and WELL BEING. BEING WELL.

THAT IS WHAT THE BIBLE DEFINES HEALING TO BE.

1.GOD IS A HEALER.

We are answering a big question in these messages: WHO IS GOD? Not what’s he DOING FOR ME… but ACTUALLY TODAY: WHO IS HE. What’s HE LIKE.

WHAT IS GOD LIKE?

Write this downL This is a name I want you to never forget:

JEHOVAH RAPHA.

JEHOVA. RAPHA.

Its found FIRST in

ex 15:26 “saying, “If you will diligently listen to the voice of the Lord your God, and do that which is right in his eyes, and give ear to his commandments and keep all his statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you that I put on the Egyptians, for I am the Lord, your healer.””

JEHOVAH means God…. And “RAPHA” Means to HEAL or to MAKE WHOLE.

We see it again

Jeremiah 30:17 “For I will restore health to you, and your wounds I will heal, declares the Lord, because they have called you an outcast: ‘It is Zion, for whom no one cares!’”

and again in

Is 30:26 “Moreover, the light of the moon will be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun will be sevenfold, as the light of seven days, in the day when the Lord binds up the brokenness of his people, and heals the wounds inflicted by his blow.”

And King David at a time in his life after trials, adversity running from King Saul who wanted to kill him and losing a friend in battle and his own throne and issues all over problems everhwre he pens this

Psalm 103:2-3 “Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits, who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases,”

WHO forgives…

WHO Heals….

NOTICE he uses the word WHO

David KNEW GOD. ….He knew WHO HE WAS. He had a revelation of WHO GOD WAS as a GOD with alol these things about him, his nature.

WE CAN KNOW GOD, BECAUSE WE HAVE HIS WORD. AND WE HAVE THE SPIRIT GUIDING US THROUGH AND TO.

We love to TELL STORIES about People. Especially people weve known and whom we know.

“tell me…. What HE WAS LIKE”….

David gives us an important KEY about God here / THIS IS GOD. MY GOD WHO FORGIVES & HEALS…

He says this he forgives your iniquities and heals all your diseases.

2.GOD WANTS YOU HEALED (&WHOLE)

Inside…. & out. PHYSICAL & THE SPIRITUAL. NATURAL AND THE SUPERNATURAL.

Forgives your iniquities - Means your HEART. Your SPIRITUAL HEALING is part of your healing OVERALL but God begins with our hearts.

FORGIVES the SICKNESS in our hearts:

Jer 17:9 “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it?”

The heart is deceitful. Its wicked. Its our SIN NATURE at the CORE of WHO WE ARE. Its BAd. I can acknowledge that now because ive experienced teh transofmoration of God as he has EXTRACTED MY HEART of STONE: Cold, Harsh, Cutting, Edgyn and mean and selfish)… and REPLACED IT.. with a HEART of FLESH (Sensitive to HIM, For Him, in Him, A wellspring of HIS life in ME I have a BRAND NEW HEART: I am HEALED.

GOD WANTS YOU HEALED SPIRITUALLY: Ill never forget the time in my life when God have me spiritual eyes to see.

MAYBE TODAY THIS MESSAGE IS FOR YOU TO ASK GOD TO OPEN YOUR EYES… REMOVE SOME BLINDNESS!

He wants to HEAL YOU SPIRITUALLY.

But David says this too

HEALS ALL YOUR DISEASES / Your PHYSICAL AILMENTS.

God CARES ABOUT YORU BODY. Thats why you should too!

Why would anyone think that GOD would withhold his healing from us>?

God heals our physical bodies in three ways:

i.Naturally / did you know that God has given us a body that has the capability to HEAL ITSELF. We have a body that has a system built in… that HEALS itself. That is GOD being a HEALER to us.

When you hurt yourself, your body has an immune system, and inflammation is the body responding to the pain & getting it th attention it needs.

We have cells within our blood system that are designed specifically to destroy anything FOREIGN.

We have a blood system and a body that forms CLOTS so that when you cut yourself you dont just BLEED to death.

You have a skin on your that knows how to REPAIR itself. OUr bodies were designed by God… to HEAL themselves.

(Do you see how Gods healing hand has already been extended to us, His nature already within us??)

iI.Medically - This is the extension of Gods healing HAND into our world. This is exactly why we need to pray and bless our first responders, doctors and medical professionals.

My dad was a tough guy. He would tough sickness out. In fact I don’t remember him ever staying Hom from work because he was sick.

He always tauight us there was a point. A point where you know that you need to go in. And see a specialist. A professional. A doctor. Some of yall need to take the help Gods trying to give you!! GO AND SEE THE DOCTOR (I dont like needles…. GET OVER IT!!)

We are so blessed with people. You should pray and ask God to give you medical help if you need it. A specialist who can help you and pray and ask theLord that He gives you the right person!

iii.Supernaturally.

The supernatural power of God in a moment- He can HEAL YOU. HE wants to!

ITS HIS WILL THAT YOU BE WELL!

Matthew 8:1–3 (ESV)

When he came down from the mountain, great crowds followed him. 2 And behold, a leper came to him and knelt before him, saying, “Lord, if you will, you can make me clean.” 3 And Jesus stretched out his hand and touched him, saying, “I will; be clean.” And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.

IF YOUVE EVER WONDERED IF GOD WANTS TO HEAL YOU- THERE IS YOUR PROOF. THE SON OF GOD SAID IT

LORD IF YOU WILL…… He stretched out HIS OWN HAND and Touched him: I WILL… BE clean.

This is why we pray “in the name of Jesus” over people!

Supernaturally when we pray, and we ask God to heal people: HE DOES:

James 5:13-16 “Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praise. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.”

Who heals all your diseases… He’s true God who HEALS.. and James says PRAY AND EXPECT that God will Raise Him up.

We pray: and God heals people

THIS HAPPENS ALL OVER THE CHURCH

let me read you some recent examples: THESE ARE PEOPLE THE CHURCH PRAYED FOR:

- A baby girl was in ICU with a respiratory virus and was healed and returned home HEALED - A gentleman had a stroke and the doctors told his family he would never walk again or move his right arm. He began walking and using his right arm within two weeks. HEALED - A father was in the hospital with blood clots in both lungs. He was healed a few days later. HEALED -A young woman had Covid and went to the hospital in Germany where she was stationed with oxygen levels at 80. She was healed and released. HEALED

-we prayed for an elderly man who was very sick and doctors couldn’t figure out what was happening. He couldn’t walk and could barely speak. A couple months later he began to improve. When the doctors ran more tests His blood work showed he was completely healed from everything.. even diabetes and sleep apnea that he had for over 30 years. HEALED

(& I could Go on.. and On… God is a HEALER and He WANTS YOU HEALED and WELL!)

3.JESUS IS OUR ULTIMATE HEALING.

Why? / HOW?????

Jesus is the PATHWAY

The way, the truth & the Life.

HE HAS HEALED US IN 3 WAYS:

THE PENALTY - He has HEALED us from the PENALTY of SIN / Eternal separation and DEATH

THE POWER - As we walk with JEsus we learn the overcoming nature of “being saved” and walking in newness of LIFE and overcoming SIN!

THE PRESENCE Jesus FREE’s us FROM THE PENALTY OF SIN NOW

Jesus provided for us ETERNITY IN HEAVEN and deliverance from the PRESENCE of SIN.

I mean just THINK bout that for a MoMent - ETERNITY…. Will have He said I GO AWAY to way to make a place for you.

John 14:1–3 ESV

“Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. 2 In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.

TESTIMONYS OF HEALING:

A woman who we have been praying for who had cancer is now in remission

We prayed for Amy who had a baby at 24 weeks. She sent this “ We had a baby at 24 weeks. He wouldn’t have been able to survive, but we’ve had two great teams of doctors and hundreds of prayers. Today he is 9 weeks old and it’s all downhill from here.
